[Announcement] Windows XP SP2 or lower no longer supported

Writer

Greetings adventurers,

We would like to inform you that Microsoft will be changing the authentication method of the Windows operating system starting from Jan 1, 2017. In line with this change, Dungeon Fighter Online will also be switching to the new authentication method, starting from DEC 27, 2016. A maintenance will be held on DEC 27 to implement the changes.

If you are using an operating system that is older than Windows XP Service Pack 2, please read the information below. For reference, Dungeon Fighter Online’s recommended operating system is Windows 7 or higher.

1. I am using Windows XP SP2. How will I be affected?

- You will not be able to execute the game after the new authentication method is in place.
- Since the operating system is no longer supported, you will be exposed to various security threats.

2. Are Windows XP SP3 users affected?

- Windows XP SP3 users will not be affected by this change.
- For security reasons, however, we recommend that you upgrade the operating system to a higher version.

3. How do I check the version of my Windows?

- Start -> Right click on My Computer -> Properties

4. I would like to know more about the authentication method change.

- The current authentication method is SHA-1 and it will be replaced with SHA-2. The Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) is a cryptographic hash function used to provide secure communication between a web browser and a website.

Using an operating system that is no longer supported by the developer is not recommended as you will be exposed to various security threats. Please secure your PC by upgrading to an operating system that receives security updates.

Thank you.
